CLIENT OVERVIEW
Ellis Fresh Fruit and Vegetables is a small business which provides high quality fruit and vegetables; sold at their stand at Wentworth Garden Centre - which receives many visitors throughout the year, especially during the Christmas period.
THE BRIEF
Design a flyer, poster, and social media posts to show Christmas opening times.
The designs must be festive, include the Ellis Fruit & Veg logo, and the Wentworth Garden Centre logo.

STATUS
Posted on the Ellis Fruit & Vegetable social media pages and posters/flyers were printed and placed around Wentworth Garden Centre and at their stand.
THE PROJECT
COLOURS
As Ellis Fruit & Veg’s dominant colour is green, I decided to make this the dominant colour in the design. I used a luxury dark green for the background to reflect the high quality produce and included a festive border which is dominantly green with pops of colour from the cranberries and lights. I incorporated some warmth into the design by adding gold through the subtly placed festive icons (the holly and the snowflakes) and the logo. To incorporate more warmth, I added the oranges at the bottom - this also adds a pop of colour to make the design more appealing, stand out and it’s also fitting with the theme as oranges are a Christmas tradition; they’re said to represent a gift of gold from Saint Nicholas. All of the text is in white in order for the information to stand out against the dark background and remain readable.
LOGOS
The official Ellis Fruit & Veg logo is grey and white, so to make it festive to suit the poster design, and add warmth, I re-made the logo in gold. As the client’s stall is located at Wentworth Garden Centre, the logo of Wentworth Garden Centre had to be included. I placed this logo, which is officially white, at the bottom and scaled it down so it wouldn’t over power the Ellis Fresh Fruit & Vegetables logo.
TYPEFACE
I used an elegant, to remain luxurious, and Christmas themed typeface for the title ‘CHRISTMAS OPENING’ in order to communicate the purpose of this poster to the audience efficiently and effectively. The text that follows, stating the dates and times, has a light sans typeface so that it is readable; with the ‘Open from 9am’ in italic to differentiate the information and then the re-open date scaled down to further differentiate.

In order to remain consistent, the same design was used for each purpose and platform, just re-designed slightly to fit each of the following:
