PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The Locarno Film Festival is an annual film festival, held every August in Locarno, Switzerland. For the festival’s 76th edition, the poster must evoke the identity of the Locarno Film Festival and the nature of the the event as a meeting place for different visions and imaginaries. The poster design must be made suitable for physical and digital platforms, horizontally and vertically. Merchandise to complement the poster would also be beneficial.
POSTER
My approach to this project was to focus on the visual identity of the Locarno Film Festival, which is the black and yellow Leopard. Therefore, I designed the Leopard to be the focal point of the poster and kept the colour palette to the black and yellow theme, with some hints of white and beige.
To signify the event as a meeting place for different visionaries, I also included some of the beautiful buildings that surround the film festival’s location with a projector in action.
MERCHANDISE
For the merchandise, I used the focal point of the poster to serve as an icon for the film festival. To remain consistent, I only designed the merchandise on black, white and beige items.
