Eight months in (full-time) and we’re already award-winning!

We recently attended the very first Ask Zoe Small Biz Awards, which is a local Christmas awards event that aims to recognise and raise awareness to small businesses in Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster and Sheffield. This event was in support of The Children’s Hospital Charity in memory of Oliver George Howe. We also had the honour of designing the official awards programme, and since Oliver’s favourite colour was purple, this meant a lot of purple designs.

The awards received a total of 75 nominations where only 43 businesses were shortlisted, with 10 being shortlisted for two awards. As judged by Nicky Thomas (Founder of The Growth Community), Kevin Steel (BDM of The Business Village), and Claire Taylor-Foster (Owner of Raspberry Flamingo), Wilkin Design won the Best Newcomer Award.

It was wonderful to see so many small businesses come together, raise money for this cause and support each other. Thank you to Zoe, the judges and anyone who has supported us for recognising Wilkin Design.

Zoe’s statement certainly resonated with us all “Our businesses may be labelled small, but our dreams, ambitions, passion and bravery are big!”
