When the user opens the app, this is the screen they will be greeted with. The user can see a quick overview of vital information regarding their vehicle. The model and colour of the vehicle which the user owns will automatically generate on the app; so in this case, the user owns a red AMG A45S. When on other screens, the home screen can be accessed via the Mercedes logo button int he centre of the navigation bar.

I’ve added this to the UX myself in order to further improve the experience. If the vehicle has any issues, the user will be greeted with this screen instead. With the ‘Warnings’ button in red and the exclamation points explaining the issue, this should prompt the user to fix these issues as soon as possible.

Here, the user can see details about the issue warnings of their vehicle. This page also offers the user a solution; depending on the issue, the user can make purchases or book their vehicle into a Mercedes approved garage.

This is where the user can control their vehicle for their convenience. For example, activating the engine and heating before getting in so that the car is warm on a cold morning, or opening windows on a hot day so that the cabin is cool. I’ve designed the buttons to dominate the screen and appear blue when activated for ease of use.

The user can view technical details of their vehicle, such as oil temperature, battery voltage, cabin temperature, fuel level and more. This section also shows the tyre pressure of each individual tyre, to inform the user of when they may need to add more air to any of the tyres.

On the vehicle settings page, the user can activate or deactivate any automations with a quick slide button and change any preferences once directed.

This setting controls the ambient lighting inside the cabin. The user can adjust the colour, brightness and any effects.

This setting controls the display style of the dash and cabin screen which accesses the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience); this includes the radio, navigation, account and more. The user can choose from three syles by Mercedes.

I’ve added this to further improve the user experience. Here, the user can set their ideal temperature for both the heating and A/C; the vehicle will keep the cabin at these temperatures when either the heating or A/C is activated. This saves the driver adjusting the temperature manually whilst they’re driving.

Here, the user can view the exact location of their vehicle at any time, a useful feature for when the owner can’t find their car in a busy car park or incase the vehicle is stolen. The user can also activate the car to flash the headlights so that it is visible from a distance, share the vehicle location with contacts and receive walking directions.

Here, the user can see further details of their trip data. This informs the user of their driving habits, fuel usage and mileage.

The user can see when their service is due and the status of the vehicle’s vital fluids. Once their service is due, the user will be able to book their vehicle into a Mercedes garage for a service.
